Chapter Eleven

You know, while writing this book I couldn’t for the life of me remember where Rebekah’s injuries were. I knew she had a scar over one eye, but I kept changing it back and forth. Same with her burned hand – I kept switching it back and forth. It was a pain in the neck.

Because I’m a nerd, I actually drew floorplans for the house on San Juan Island. I searched around on various Washington real estate websites for a good exterior shot of a house, and then drew floorplans for it, and mapped the whole thing out. It’s a neat house. One day I’ll build it. (If you’d like to see it, here’s a photo from the real estate company. I altered it a little bit, but this was the inspiration.)

The crossword puzzles that Eric does in this chapter used to be a running joke, back in the Tangled Web version. Throughout the rest of the book he would use bizarre little words that no one else knew, because he was expanding his vocabulary with the puzzles.
