Chapter Ten
Here’s the thing about Edward: he’s fun to write, and he’s an intriguing character, because he’s very much a villain but also delusional and conflicted. But I just don’t like him. Never have. I don’t know why. He works well in the story, but I just have no great attachment to him like I do with some of my other characters. By contrast, I totally love Felix.

Have you noticed that whenever I talk about the news, I always talk about CNN? It doesn’t matter whether I’m referring to someone watching the news (Eric always watches CNN) or someone is bashing the news media (Edward calls CNN a waste of time). There are two reasons for this: first, if I were to mention Fox News, it would automatically be construed as some kind of political statement (because I firmly believe that people only watch Fox News because of their ideology, not because of news quality), and also because: I hate Fox News. (And because, MSNBC: who cares?)

I really like the fact that Felix’s plan is collapsing without anyone having to stop it. It seems so much more realistic.
