I began writing professionally in 1999 (for the arts magazine RED), and I had my first novel published in 2004. I have been active in the LDS writing community ever since, having served on the LDStorymakers Board of Directors and founding the Whitney Awards, as well as teaching numerous classes and workshops.

Through these experiences, such as the creation of the Whitneys and promoting my own books, I developed a love of business and marketing. In 2007 I returned to school to get my MBA.
